Ocular allergies are an abnormal response of sensitive eyes to contact with allergens and other irritating substances. This condition is the same as allergic conjuctivitis. Often it is hard to determine the exact offending agent causing the allergies but pollen, dust, contact lens solutions or the contact lenses themselves are often responsible. We often prescribe artificial tears, anti-histamine eye drops, or mild steroid eye drops to control the allergies.
